TACA (The Tennessee Association of Craft Artists), a non profit organization,

was founded in 1965 by a group of Tennesseans active in fine  crafts.  A state-wide organization, TACA is divided

into nine geographical chapters. The State of Franklin chapter includes Hancock, Hawkins, Greene, Unicoi,

Washington, Sullivan, Carter, and Johnson Counties.

The specific goals of TACA are:

1.  Encourage professionalism among fine craftspeople and raise the standard of excellence and design.

2.  Create marketing opportunities for fine craft artists.

3.  Increase public understanding and appreciation of fine crafts.

4.  Provide a forum for TACA members to encourage mutual support.

Membership in TACA is open to anyone interested in fine crafts, including students, teachers, shop and gallery

owners, guilds, craft suppliers, supporters and promoters.
